Boobie Miles became an outsider because he couldn’t play football anymore. After is injury that made him unable to play for the rest of the season, his social status went down. It made him an outsider in the fact that all his peers are playing while he’s stuck on the sideline. Also the once great Boobie Miles was at a pep-rally with a white jersey on instead of a black one that all the starters wore. He wasn’t used to this feeling of being a nobody. There were no longer colleges knocking at his door or fans in the crowd cheering his name. The only solution I would suggest is for him to now focus on getting healthy and getting his grades up so that he can still go to college and hopefully walk on to a football team and try to bring the old Boobie back. This problem in our society still exist. Many young, talented players are getting hurt every season not being able to fulfill their dream of playing at the next level.

I’ve already stated that the book relates to my life because I play football but it also relates to the world. There are thousands of kids that play the sport and know what it takes to win. Every last one of them knows that feeling of having your community and team counting on you to win every game. People everywhere relate to the blood, sweat, and tears we leave on the field. We put or heart into the game. Football is worldwide.

At first I thought that the feud between Midland and Permian was because of football feud. I came to find out that it there was much more to it. Both towns were getting money for oil companies until there was a drought. One school was getting more money than the other so of course they got mad. This lead over to football games and the towns have been rivals ever since. I don’t see how they let something with business come between their kids and football. Everyone has a rival in every sport though so it’s only natural. Their rivalry just started with something not sport or school related.
